Título: Photo-elicitation interviews: A participatory approach to social change

Resumen: The use of visual research methods in social research has grown in popularity in recent years due to its participatory potential and the easy availability of imaging devices. Researchers who adopted photo-elicitation interviews (PEI) in their studies (e.g., Epstein et al., 2006; Harper, 2010; Bates et al., 2017) trace the pioneer of this technique to John Collier (1957), an anthropologist. In this presentation, Dr Choo will introduce some of the strengths and weaknesses of using photo-elicitation interviews and share how photo-elicitation interviews informed her PhD study on Citizenship in Myanmar.
